Childpreneurs : Investing in the future

Childpreneur: Investing in the future

While doing research on Mompreneurs for one of my recent articles, I came across the notion of «Childpreneur». It intrigued me greatly and, to my surprise, I found very little written about this subject. Childpreneurs have existed for a very long time, but no one has given them the importance I believe they should have. I guess the idea is in its infancy (pun intended)!

With this article I intend to start raising awareness about the true infinite potential our children possess. If they can learn several dozen languages before the age of six, imagine what they can learn about mastering their own financial future through owning their own business.

If children grew up according to early indications, we should have nothing but geniuses.
– Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

So what is a Childpreneur? Where are they most commonly found? How can you discover if your children have this inclination? And if they do, what can you, as a parent, do to nurture it to its full potential? Let’s make a trip to «Business Neverland» and find out.

Attending JCCM networking event on June 26

Last week we began to put into place customized recruitment partnerships with business and marketing schools and institutions, as well as with individuals working in those spheres of learning.

This week, we are preparing to attend the JCCM (Jeune Chambre de Commerce de Montréal) networking event. It will be held on Wednesday, June 26th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at «La Coupole» restaurant. You can register through this link.

We have found the last JCCM event we attended a few months ago to be very well organized, very professional and allowing excellent business contacts. We definitely recommend their events without hesitation, and encourage all of you that can make it to join us there.

Our main objective is to connect with potential recruitment partners, on top of solid business contacts for the future of course. So if you intend on attending and are interested in a partnership with Phoenix Alliance, please contact us before-hand to make sure we will meet there.

Networking constitutes a very important part of any type of business or career, which we discussed in our recent article on the subject. Be certain to attend as many good events as you can, like the JCCM one next week.

Networking is not about who you know, but who knows you

We started our project “Interviews of interesting people” with Noah Redler, a Montreal entrepreneur and involved member of the Start-Up community and RJCCQ (Regroupement des Jeunes Chambres de Commerce du Québec).

Noah’s specializations are project management, communication strategy, political strategy, event and production logistics, problem solving, and writing (speech, content, creative).

Noah started his first company when he was 22 years old. He is a successful entrepreneur, and today he helps us to understand more about the wonderful world of entrepreneurship.

The principal focus of our conversation was about networking, this powerful tool that can change your business, steering it in a good or bad direction.

Networking is the single most powerful marketing tactic to accelerate and sustain success for any individual or organization!
– Adam Small

Networking is about making connections and building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. There are thousands of reasons to build a strong network, be it sales related (meeting new prospects, receiving referrals to new prequalified prospects) or non-sales related (find a new job, getting new ideas, new insights and new wisdom, getting another perspective). In this article we will explain the most important tips to create and to maintain a strong network.

Mompreneurs: true modern-day heroes

03 juny_articleJust last week I found out there is a name for the lifestyle I chose. Apparently I’m a «Mompreneur». This discovery immediately made me feel less alone and more supported.

Wikipedia describes this concept as: «a neologism defined as a female business owner who is actively balancing the role of mom and the role of entrepreneur.»

But I like the description by TheMOMpreneur.com much better: «A multi-tasking woman who can balance both the stresses of running a business as an entrepreneur and the time-consuming duties of motherhood at the same time.»

There are literally dozens of aspects related to being a Mompreneur, all of them warranting a separate article. So I will touch here on just a few, which I have personal experience with, and there might be other business segments on this subject later on.

The bearing and the training of a child
Is woman’s wisdom.
– Alfred Tennyson (The Princess, 1847)

So here’s another revelation I had during my research for this article; it turns out that, as modern as I am, I still firmly believe in traditional family values, like the importance for children to have their Moms at home for as long as possible. But how is that feasible in this 21st century crazy competitive professional environment? Let’s find out the myths and realities of it.

Understanding the different MLM compensation plans

27 may_articlePhoenix Alliance’s previous business segment discussed how to evaluate the quality of an MLM business and we mentioned that the details concerning the commission structures are quite elaborate and would appear in another Phoenix Alliance business segment. So here it is. After reading this article, you should be able to determine which compensation plan is best suited to your personality.

I will freely admit that the compensation plan aspect of MLM businesses is my absolute favourite part to study and assess. I have a geek side, and math has always fascinated me. But rest assured, you don’t have to be a fellow geek to understand compensation plans, as long as they are properly explained.

I hope this article will demystify what is considered by most to be the least understood of all MLM business aspects. But since MLM is a business, it is of capital importance that you have a firm grasp of the financial compensation you can expect from a pay plan. Because in the end, the goal of an efficient compensation plan is to leverage your time.

I know of nothing more despicable and pathetic than a man who devotes all the hours of the waking day to the making of money for money’s sake.
– John D. Rockefeller

It is commonly agreed in the Network Marketing industry that there are four main types of compensation structures. In this article, I will bypass the less common ones and hybrid ones, to concentrate only on the following four.

How to evaluate the quality of an MLM business

20 may_articlePhoenix Alliance’s previous business segment discussed how to succeed in MLM and we mentioned that choosing a good MLM company was an important aspect of it, and deserved to be explained in detail as the main subject of another article. So here we are.

It took me seven years to finally find the Network Marketing company I have now been «happily married» to, for over ten years now. Of course, that was before the Internet and Google were as efficient as they are now. Also, I have to admit that I had not realized how important working with a great company actually is.

So I hope that this article will impress upon you that no amount of talent will ever compensate for choosing the best company for you. And don’t be fooled, there are important business principles to be followed, but you also have to be a good match for each other.

Women when they marry buy a cat in the bag.
– Michel de Montaigne

Based on my personal experience and the experience of many other professional Network Marketers, I identified six crucial aspects that absolutely have to be carefully considered when choosing between all the MLM companies out there. And here they are.
